JOIN US AND TRAIN TO BECOME A QUALIFIED ‘EXTEND’ TEACHER.

EXTEND provides training courses for adults interested in teaching recreational exercise to music for the older person and the less able of all ages.

The charity have adapted a new eLearning platform, to provide an inspiring and interactive way to support course delivery. This will be taught through a set of modules, accessible from laptops and tablets, which can be studied at your own pace anywhere with an internet connection. Our blended learning will consist of online quizzes, worksheets, slide presentations and much more.

EXTEND Exercise joined forces with awarding body VTCT (Vocational Training Charitable Trust) to deliver a high quality qualification. This accreditation ensures that our training is valid and consistent with the Qualification and Credit Framework (QCF) guidelines.

Our accredited exercise programmes, enables the teacher to have a qualification to deliver quality exercises sessions to the heart of the local community.

VTCT Level 2 Certification in Instructing Exercise to Music to older Adults and People with Disabilities (QFC)

This course will prepare you for a career in the sport and active leisure industry as a fitness instructor, teaching exercise to music and physical activity to the general public and specific populations (older adults and people with disabilities)

Chair Based Exercise This course will develop the skills to encourage and engage frailer older adults in chair-based exercise sessions. Furthermore you will develop the skills to plan, prepare, deliver and manage risks associated with Chair-Based Exercise. This course will also deliver exercises for Wheelchair users.
